LEGAL AWARENESS SECTION
Headed by : Ms. Agnes Mgeyekwa ( Assistant Secretary)
Objective :
To establish and maintain a workable system of collaboration, consultation and co-operation with any person or body of person within or outside the United Republic of Tanzania engaged in law reform.
Function/ Responsibilities:
- To liaise with MDAs, CBOs, NGOs in identifying Legal problems that need further reform.
- To identify idea papers, position papers, discussion papers and reports from other Law Reform Agencies.
- To conduct seminars, workshops, public lectures and other meetings of the public for the purposes of discussion on or dissemination of information or matter relating to law reform in Tanzania.
- To collect all Treaties, Protocols, Acts and upload in the Commission website.
- To design, prepare and produce the Commission Law Journal bi-annually.
- To design, prepare and produce the brochures, articles and calendar.
- To coordinate press briefings for the Commission.
- To design and prepare public legal awareness programmes through media.
- To initiate, develop and manage all other public awareness programmes on annual basis.
- To provide link between the Commission and Parent Ministry in order to get feedback of actions taken regarding Commission Reports presented to the Minister responsible with Legal Affairs
