LEGAL RESEARCH SECTION

Headed by : Mr Adam Mambi (Assistant Secretary)

Functions / Responsibilities

To conduct pre-research and propose areas for reforms.
To prepare idea papers, position papers, discussion papers and reports in line with Strategy Statement.
To undertake field research of any particular branch of law and make recommendations for reform.
To identify and analyse legal reports prepared by other agencies, consultants, and researchers which have law reform implications.
To evaluate all research activities and recommend to the Commission Secretary.
To collaborate with individuals or Committees or working groups co-opted by the Commission to undertake any law reform tasks.
To advise MDAs on matters that may require legal assistance.
To study Treaties, Conventions, Agreements, Protocols and other related Regional and International legal instruments ratified by the United Republic of Tanzania and recommend accordingly.
To coordinate on-going legal reform programmes that supports the Commission activities.
To conduct stakeholders workshops.
